Museum grand reopening
June 21, 2019 @ 1:00 pm
Dress up in your best 1915 era garb
Join us on Thursday, June 20 or Friday, June 21 for the special grand re-opening of the St. Clair Museum.
Enjoy all new exhibits, audio-visual displays and the jaw-dropping Belle Reve Room whose walls are highlighted by 200 year-old hand-carved English oak paneling originally placed in St. Clair’s Belle Reve mansion on North Riverside in 1910.
Historian Charles Homberg will present the exciting story of the paneling and its travels from England to St. Clair through the efforts of St. Clair industrialist George Gordon Moore. Have your picture taken in front of the massive fireplace with “George,” the hand-carved Belle Reve mascot.
When?
Thursday, June 20 at 7 PM or
Friday, June 21st at 1 PM.
Where?
St. Clair Historical Museum, 308 S. 4th St.
