Naturalist Education: Macroinvertebrates
May 12, 2021 @ 12:00 pm
Our Naturalist Series continues on Wednesday May 12th at 12pm noon with a special virtual presentation by Friends of the St. Clair River President, Sheri Faust.
Sheri will share how our Stream Leaders water quality monitoring program works, how the data has led to stream restoration work, and the importance of volunteer stream monitoring work.
In the ten years since we began macroinvertebrate stream monitoring, a lot of groundwork has been laid to improve local stream health. At this presentation, we’ll help volunteers connect deeper in citizen science by providing macroinvertebrate training, and share local water quality problems and protection efforts.
BONUS! We added a special hands-on Stream Leaders training! Put your new knowledge into practice immediately! Join us on Saturday May 15th, at 12pm noon at the Belle River at Columbus County Park as our Environmental Educator, Amy, shows you the secrets of finding, collecting and identifying mayflies, damselflies and so much more!
This is what hands in the water, boots in the mud is all about!
